Too much focus on intensity - just bad for the head. Today was dedicated to letting go.
A very wise teacher told me once, "It's just a story in your head. You can just turn it off and tell yourself another one."
Easier said than done, but I'm trying. A day spent in the studio produced a layer of ugly which I've got to wade through. We had plans to go to the Orchid Show at the NY Botanical Gardens, but with the traffic we got there too late. My beloved husband took me to Harbor Freight and COSTCO instead for our date. But we had fun and picked out a staple gun and lots of edibles in great quantities - as well an Italian dinner on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx.
Disappointment is a state of mind like any other. It will fade and be replaced by another.
The hard part is letting go of the story that is D. Trump, Putin and all the other foolish actors who have deadly consequences for innocent people. That is the trick.
