The French have voted for freedom, openness and liberty. Macron has won by a projected 65%. If that isn't the best news I've heard in the long time, I don't know what is. The continent of Europe is breathing a collective sigh of relief, even as LePen and supporters are popping champagne and claiming victory of the opposition party. And so are we, but there is increased support for her among the youth who are looking ahead toward a 2022 victory so there's no resting on the laurels.
Such news is worth celebrating as a repudiation of extremism and should lift the spirits of all those feeling sickened by recent legislation in the US around Healthcare and Taxation. Not everywhere in the world is there absolute upside down insanity. Not that France does not still have problems with economy, racism, and immigration policy. Maybe the French people are just less easily fooled and lead on by xenophobic rhetoric which promises nothing but lies and promotes hate and dis-ease.
So Vive la France!

And also sharing a little bit of abundance from the garden this morning - the magnificent tree peony has bloomed in honor of the day. It lasts ever so briefly until the rain comes and washes the blooms away.
Another note of abundance: the sheer number of grassroots organizations meeting on a regular basis to turn over conservative, backward legislative seats on the county level. 70 Indivisible groups in Westchester alone. The numbers indicate this is no passing phase and signify real hope for change. Grassroots groups can't be divided and swayed so easily by nefarious media, press and dark money strategies. It's the meaning of indivisible, with justice and liberty for all. And we know from the Tea Party that it works, but this is much bigger. Polls show the support for Indivisible groups is nearly double what it was for the Tea Party in 2010 when the Republicans recovered the House after the Obama election win. Every phone call, every donation and every get out the vote effort counts.
