Today was a nothing much sort of day. I woke up and sort of meandered around and then helped D pull old plastic bags out of a dirt and junk pile in the back of our yard. Sort of like archeology left over from the previous owners. We have about an acre of woods and many fallen trees that he takes a chain saw too and the lugs them over the log splitter with his tractor. All outdoor "manly" stuff as he says.
But the logs were mostly cherry wood beautiful inside but riddled with carpenter ants which is why they fell. Guess the cherry wood is super sweet for the colony. It was fascinating to watch them including their queen. So glad they were out there and not near our old wooden house.
Sometime a nothing day feels great especially after heavy lifting both mentally and physically. My dad used to call these kind of days "mental health" days and would write us notes for school. I've come to really appreciate that in my old age. I almost took a sick-day from the OTG but then thought better of it.
With gratitude for my dad and my audience.
